You know normally when we see an “A” with a circle around it we think Anarchy. No, not this time, this time the very “A” stands for Avengers.
As far as movie franchise go, this one directed by Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Firefly creator Joss Whedon, hit’s it mark as an action movie. I will try very hard not to give too much away, so please bear with me.
If you are looking for a story like Shawshank Redemption, then my friend you somehow waiting in a very long line, and will be disappointed. Now like Whedon’s previous work, the puns are there and the writing is full of verbal jabs and quibs, that will have you laughing throughout the movie. The action seems to go from one thing to the next with little to no slow-downs. Each scene picked to further the action and story along, and pushing just over 2 hours, you never feel that you were actually planted in your seat that long.
You know I have to admit I was never a Hulk fan, and neither movie of the Hulk made me any more of a fan, I think it hurt it more then it helped, but I would say that Whedon, actually help make the Hulk a little bit better of a character.
Iron Man with his lines pretty much steal the show, and his back and forth with Captain America, are written for the fanboys in the audience.
You know when I first saw the trailer, I was wondering who the villians were in all of this could they be the Skrull, only because Mark Millar, and Byran Hitch did such a wonderful job of the Avengers story in the Ulitmates. If you have not read it, I suggest picking up the graphic novel today. The villains in Loki Army is nothing more then cannon fodder, with nothing more then to get killed, smashed, stomped, whopped, hit or any other action verb you can toss in there.
Overall, if you go into this looking for a fun action movie nothing dark and story driven like a Batman movie, then you will not be disappointed.

The Avengers Opens May 4th 2012.
