The Origin Of The Shiny Disco Ball


The disco ball actually predates disco. Being a huge movie buff, we would like to give you Evidence A to the members of the jury.  Look closely at the nightclub scenes in the 1927 silent film, “Berlin die Sinfonie der Großstadt,” Seriously go out and Netflix it. Did you do it? Made long before bell-bottom pants, John Travolta, and platform shoes, the scenes featured mirror balls hanging from the ceiling.
