You would think that maybe being a clown would hinder your serious bid for Congress, or even the fact that your illiterate would shy away voters, but the clown know as Tiririca, which means “Grumpy” in Portuguese, has won his bid in the Brazilian Congress, by a land slide. Campaigning on “It can’t get any worse.” has been the battle cry many in Brazil seem to believe in.
Having won more than double the amount of votes of his opponent, and surviving a last-minute attempt at getting him thrown out for being illiterate, heck that’s what you got congressional aides for, to read all those laws trying to get passed and budget proposals, Silva said, he would do nothing more then to just report to the people what the others in Congress actually do, if anything.
Having taken a que from another clown, Silva feels more then qualified.
“What’s the worst that could happen?”

I could never vote for a clown. A real clown, I mean. I voted for Nader, and I don’t want to confuse the two.
Clowns are creepy. If they weren’t before, John Wayne Gacy and Tim Curry pretty much ruined them for everybody.
Interesting fact about clowns–cannibals refuse to eat them. Yeah, apparently they taste funny.
